s e w : u n e x p e c t e d

Well gang, I hope everyone had a safe a wonderful new years eve - I certainly had a fun filled night, sprinkled with a few unexpected events.

First off, the black velvet dress that I had been working on for days before new years eve, well.. the entire back-seam ripped! And on top of that, when I inspected the dress in the morning, it was covered in bits of wet oil paint :[ I think the seam in the back started ripping when I was dancing - and I must have bumped against some oil paint from a painting that was not dry yet. (Just to let you know: I went to a new years eve ball at an art studio, so wet paint is not too unprobable.) So the only photo I took that came out was one that my dear boyfriend Andrew and I took at the stroke of midnight!

Fortunately I have some dry cleaning solution at my house, so I cleaned up the paint with a long gentle scrubbing. Tomorrow I will sew up the back seam which thankfully ripped cleanly, leaving the velvet unharmed while only the thread was destroyed. So for the lack of pictures: I apologize. BUT do not fear my dearies! My black velvet dress shall be photographed when it is mended :]

I hope your new years eve was filled with wonderful memories and aspirations for the year to come. I certainly have a few projects up my sleeve! Well, ta ta for now ;]
